Abstract

Agricultural commodity markets unite physical production uncertainty with globally connected financial prices. This article develops an integrated analytical framework for commodity intelligence that links cash and futures price discovery, macro-financial dynamics, remote-sensing observations, and transparent forecasting evaluation. Based on a critical restructuring of the author’s original manuscript and established economic and econometric literature, the study examines the mechanisms through which market information can shape price expectations and risk management. It proposes a reproducible research design combining cointegration analysis, dynamic conditional correlation models, and temporally valid comparisons of conventional and hybrid forecasts. A source audit reveals that the supplied manuscript’s empirical coefficients and accuracy values cannot be independently verified without the original datasets and computational records; accordingly, the present version distinguishes methodological proposals and theoretical findings from unverified numerical claims. The article argues that integrating biophysical and financial signals may improve decisions, but predictive effectiveness, causal influence, and distributional benefits require separate empirical demonstration. Its contribution is a structured research agenda and governance-oriented model for evaluating agro-financial intelligence under scientific standards.

Article scope and academic contribution

This article brings together agricultural price formation, the financialization of commodity markets, econometric modelling and satellite-based crop intelligence. It distinguishes theoretical channels and proposed empirical tests from results that cannot be reproduced without underlying data. Core sections address market integration and price discovery; literature and theoretical foundations; proposed data architecture; cointegration and vector error correction models; time-varying correlation and volatility; machine-learning forecast validation; interpretation, risk management and policy implications; limitations; and future research.

Research integrity and methodology

The paper is a conceptual and methodological study, not an independently verified estimation exercise. The empirical figures in the original draft have not been treated as validated statistical results. The proposed framework emphasizes documented data provenance, transparent specifications, temporal holdout testing, and reproducibility.
